Blueberry is infamous for being very finicky and ready to produce hermies at the least provocation. There are a lot of mutant seedlings. It's not a beginner-friendly strain. Avoid over-feeding and over-watering ir. The yields are below average. You can try and grow Blueberry in warmer temperate climates (e.g. Southern Europe) because it is considered an excellent outdoor strain.
Stony but clear, euphoric, long-lasting. Curing and storing it for a long time make the smoke even better. Many users say that Blueberry is their favorite smoke. A Cannabis Cup winner.
When grown right, a good pheno will have a fantastic taste and smell of freshly picked berries.

Dutch Passion Blueberry is the original, a famously classy and enjoyable cannabis combined with fruity flavours and blue colourations in the leaves and buds. The genetics are 80% Indica/20% Sativa and date back to the 1970’s. Repeat growers of Blueberry often like to germinate a number of seeds to find a special mother plant, she is easy to take cuttings from and you will never get tired of top quality Blueberry bud. Although she yields well under ideal conditions she is grown primarily by those growers looking for that special, relaxing and refined Blueberry high.
She may not be the easiest variety for the newer grower, and can be a fussy feeder, but she will repay the experienced grower with harvests of perhaps one of the best cannabis varieties available. Still a coffeeshop favourite decades after she was introduced.

David (dutch-passion.nl):
Although this is an old school strain it is one of the most strongest strains I've grown or even smoked for that matter the buds looked great as well absolutely covered in THC! but that isn't why I'll grow it again, the smell and flavour are phenomenal, it is a strain every connoisseur should grow really is a 10/10 from me and haven't had a single plant hermie so don't believe the hype!
Just me (dutch-passion.nl):
This Strain is the absolute best you can grow! Smell: Deep Fruit n' Berry Aroma Smoke: allmost berrys a smooth and heavy smoke Bag: Blue and Violett Color Red Hairs! dense and very nice Budform (10/10)! High: Relaxing, very giggly, creative, uplifting, Makes you to a Blueberry Clown xD Yield: So much top Quality Buds best i ever had! I had 4 Blueberry Plants and evry was light diffrent. 2x400W, 2x600W, 4x30l Soil, 18C° for Blue Color, Moderate hesi feeding, Dried for 4 weeks at 0-8C° one was taller whit extrem dense hairy same looking buds, very nice, strongest smell, and biggest yield. I think the most sativa % two plants was shorter: one of them had 3 branches per internode, never seen this before :D Buds was very dense to, not so hairy but frosty like a icebear! smell was more fruits and berrys as the taller one. The last seed Pops later off and grow slower so she was a half so tall like her sisters Buds was very rose looking. like a lot Little balls forms a bud! Most resin of all them Earthy taste and flowers berrys fruits. She had a couchlooking nockout Stone! I think that was most like the Pakistani Father Thanks Dutch Passion please never let this strain die, Is it possible to buy other DJ short Plants feminised then I will Buy so next is Blue Velvet :D
Knas (dutch-passion.nl):
4 seeds gave me 2 diffrent phenotypes. One big, early and FULL of resin and one smaller with more fanleafs and a bit slow.
Dan in Colorado (dutch-passion.nl):
Just harvested my first crop of Dutch Passion Blueberry, of which there are many pretenders, and it is simply impressive. Seems so many folks are concerned about how strong in percentage THC or this terpene or that, etc. Cannabis to me is all about personality. A particular strain, jeesh - a particular plant is like a person. The best ones are friends - groovy, understanding friends. They\'re exciting because they show you things you wouldn\'t have thought of on your own. That\'s the kind of friends I want to hang with and Blueberry is one of those kind of friends. You should meet her.
Yosser hughes (dutch-passion.nl):
Im growing this atm its totally unreal big 36inch cola on her sticky resin packed smelly weed yummy yosser
Gaz (dutch-passion.nl):
Beautifuly heady smoke, loved topping, got a monster plant out of the 5 which had 5 massive cola's on. Couple did hermie, a week before time, but more seeds and still smoked great.
Graham (dutch-passion.nl):
My Blueberry plant just gave me 3.5 Oz under a 400w HPS in coco. The dry buds smell like blueberry jam, and are lightly purple coloured. The high is really upbeat and happy but very relaxing and sofa friendly at the same time. I'm really impressed with Blueberry, the flavour is way above what I expected and the smell is just so sweet and fruity. Thanks Dutch Passion Blueberry fems are my current favourite.
MrSparkles (dutch-passion.nl):
My first grow was with Blueberry, foxtailed which looked great. The taste is sweet but with a smooth undertone. In the jar after a cure you can smell the blueberry too.. Very nice, I would love to do a SoG in the future with her.
Masher (dutch-passion.nl):
Dutch Passion Blueberry got me a years worth of highest quality medicine from 5 beautiful plants grown organically indoors. I dont think you can get better than this variety, its just top quality.
Retired in spain (dutch-passion.nl):
actually you can grow Blueberry outdoors, we do it all the time here in spain. Just start the seedlings on your window ledge and get them outside either in the garden or on the upstairs sun deck by the end of April and you have cracked it. Its relaxed round here and not a problem to grow a small number of plants for yourself so long as you dont grow too many. I grow Blueberry as it is such a great stoney feeling, you just dont get that type of quality very often. And yields are fine especially with the Blueberrys rooted in the garden, keep them watered and they grow as tall as I do and are covered in bud at harvest. Each year I do 5 or 6 of them and get enough pot for the following year. I haven't bothered growing a different strain for a while - this is more than enough for me and suits the lifestyle.
Very Berry Copenhagen (dutch-passion.nl):
I only wish you could grow Blueberry oudoors in northern Denmark, but it is not possible I have tried many times. Indoors she is a great plant to grow. Yes DP are right she is a pretty plant but the beauty is all in the smoke. Times have changed, in Denmark if you want the best quality grass you have to grow it yourself these days. Blueberry is just best qualities all the way through - one of my real favourites after 20 years of smoking.
Old Boi (dutch-passion.nl):
Blueberry is my all time favourite, and probably became so the first time I had some in a coffeeshop in the 90's. It is a quality original indica with just enough sativa to make a top quality experience without giving it too much of a sativa edge to the high. In my greenhouse I get more of the blue colours and flavours than I do from my indoor grow - which DP say is due to the cooler night-time temperatures. I agree it is expensive, but when you are getting a few ounce from a plant I don't mind paying a bit more for the seeds.
REEFS (rollitup.org):
Not the hardest strain, but definitely not the easiest. Go easy on the nutes, tends to hermie with any stress. It is kind of a pain in the ass, but well worth it!
flashgee (rollitup.org):
a few people that i know have grow them and said if you let them flower too long they will hermi and that you get some with the crinckly leaf pheno, apart from that they smoke well...
yeah the crinckle leaf pheno pops up in most packs of 10 seeds at least 1 or 2 times... you got take the rough with the smooth when it comes to the blueberry. but every plant that gets through to the end of flower is always a keeper. growing out a bunch of blueberry avoiding the pit falls of hermies, mutants, nute burn, so on is all part of the joys of growing and knowing your doing it right... most people that grow them say to keep the nute low, even dj short say not to over feed and he gave dp there blueberry
idl (rollitup.org):
So that crinkly leaf pheno is somewhat known? I saw one grow for 4 months and it never grew over 8" had a SHIT LOAD of nodes and the leaves were like long thin fingers. Most of the leaves never formed in the normal shape, they were just crinkly long stringy leaves. Even in flower it never did anything so it was tossed. Kind of turned me off to blueberry but I've been reconsidering.
trichopath (rollitup.org):
i got 5 fem seeds once from dp, 4 were all mutant and really crappy didn't even look like cannabis! but the 1 that turned out was knockout i was using dutch formula advanced hydro nutrients at the time and just doing half strength in my soil. it really has a flavor and smell all of its own, gonna try it in organic soon
the end product of a good blueberry plant is a orgy for the senses, you wont be disappointed
Silky Shagsalot (rollitup.org):
i've grown dp's bb twice. this second time they were heavy feeders. mucho trichomes and good yield. not a hard grow at all... the only probs. i had, was a few wigged out seedlings. blueberry has a tendency to display what i call the "twisted leaf syndrome," early on. unless it gets really bad, i let them go. i've read many times that deformed plants of certain strains can kick out some kick-ass bud. i gave my nephew some samples, and he said it was the bestest, tastiest bud he'd ever smoked. HE SMOKES "A LOT" OF WEED, LOL. i'm about to start a new grow, and i'm gonna be running mostly d.p. blueberry.
Bucket head (rollitup.org):
a few months back i got a 10 pack dp blueberry. i germed all 10 they did great until flowering. I had 8 Hermies and lost one more to grow room mishap. so right now i have one left and its about 1 1/2 weeks from harvest. And all i can can say is WOW this girl looks great so frosty. she is taking a liitle longer than my white russians, but i know its worth the wait. blueberry seems to be a great one to grow if you got the time, patience and a green thumb. cant wait til this weekend harvest time for the white russian.
jonnyk (rollitup.org):
Hey, I'm on my third grow of DP feminized blueberry from a 10 pack. I did 5 a few months ago, flowered them from seed, and got two different phenos, one was kinda airy and hairy, but nice an crystaly, very sensetive to nutes. the other started forming ball like leaf curls, with cool ass clusters all over the place, the final product was one fat nug with little legs coming off of it. it looked fuckin cool. Decent yeild, but nothing spectacular. The high was great, up lifting, no couch lock, after 4 day hang dry, it tasted nice. after 1 week cure it tasted even nicer, kinda hazy, lemony, piney, after 2 weeks you really started getting some sick flavors in there, it tasted really crisp and clean, with a strong punch after you exhale the bong. The smoke tastes sooo nice, with a reallly haaazzzyy smoke smell after you exhale, all my freinds were like shiiit dude whats that!!!! They stretched a decent amount, 2 inch nodes...Now I am left with my last 4 clones, These started flowering Oct 9th. that makes it 63 days, and I havent picked anything yet. fortunately they turned hermi and I started noticing a few seed sacks about 2 weeks ago. I would say I'm gonna get 10 seeds outa the whole bunch. I'm happy about that... Theese phenos are great, therye kinda mix beween pine cone and hairy, Not too dense, but super frosty, thrichs are almost all milky but nothing amber yet. no clusters or curling leaves like the other pheno i had, its not to stinky either unless you touch it...I vegged them for about a month, and flowered them when they were about 3 feet tall. they stretched about 6 inches in flowering. Im guessing ill get an ounce 1/2 per plant, hopefully a bit more. All grown in soil organicly fox farm. I am goign to pick them in 1 week. been giving them plain water for 2 weeks so far. With this plant its all about patience for the taaassstteee....
raiderman (rollitup.org):
i have grown this strain 8 times and never hermied till i went feminized
drugstorecowboy (rollitup.org):
I have grown Blueberry for a long time as well as some other blueberry offshoots (Old Time Moonshine, Flo, Grape Crush, etc) and I feed them half strength nutes and water less then I do all my other strains. Blueberry has the possibility of hermies late in flower, but I have never seen it. It is just an easily stressed plant. It's not for newbie growers, but for those who are successful, it is well worth the extra effort.
Hobbes (rollitup.org):
Dutch Passion is suppose to be very good, just get a pack of regular seeds instead of feminized and you might get 1 decent mother out of 10 seeds.
scoobyboy (rollitup.org):
This strain is SHITE!! ive been growing for years and this is by far the biggest load of monkey bedding ive ever come across!!! thanks dutch passion for fucking up my grow with shitty herme dominant nettles. oh and before anyone says its cos its stressed what alot of BOLLOX my jack herer, pineapple express and sage are or i should say were doing great until these shit genetics decided to throw pollen all round my room!! not happy STAY AWAY FROM DUTCH PASSION FEMINIZED
rob the snob (rollitup.org):
mines turned so good that i said fuck it and started cloning it i have 2 generation growing in a lil clone bucket .... the big one has 32 banches and is going to give me about 600 to 800 grms.... i got pics is only one month into flowering and it has like 3 month veging .... the tricomes in this bitch are so crazy ... this mother of all is 6 foot tall and idk how much wide but thx god i planed ahead
UDZR1 (seedfinder.eu):
I grew 25 seedlings feminized in a 120x120x200cm grow tent. I veg them for 20 days and flower them for 60 days... Plants are very uniform. Starting 12/12 at 25cm tall, they will grow up to 120cm. They grow with 1 main huge cola. Short internodes. They are perfect for tight SOG systems. Very few branches! I harvested 400 grams for 600w of light (approx 16g per plant)
Smoke report
Complete couchlock. Very heavy body stone. Fruity taste.
Great strain..
plantepaz (seedfinder.eu):
Not much crystals in leaves. Very strong grow in vega. Herms with high temps.
cashcropken (seedfinder.eu):
this plant stretched alot and never really produced much resin. feminized seeds hermi so I had to pull them up.
zels420 (seedfinder.eu):
This blueberry didn’t perform the best for me. The extra 7- 10 days that it takes in comparison to other blueberrys (mold issues being the reason) the extra time did not equal higher yield, however it ran great indoors. Should likely be grown further south for better results.
Grow Reports
Grow report #1
Last year, a grower called Berryman gave me the opportunity to experience a garden of Blueberry cuttings, taken from a BB mother plant that had been grown from original Dutch Passion seed of 2004. They were grown on rockwool under 600 Watts of HPS light, together with Power Plant clones, and left in the vegetative state for seven days. Receiving an EC of max. 1.8 and a pH value of around six, the plants grew very well. They had a very stout growth pattern, the internodes were very close to one another. The stem turned purple in the course of cultivation, but not the shade leafs, due to the rather warm grow room temperature (24-28°C). A cold climate encourages the production of purple and blue hues so that the discolouration of Blueberry is much stronger products than products. However, at the end of flowering at least slightly blue-red hues emerged in the flower clusters and also flower leafs. The plants had grown to a height of 45 to 55 cm when it was time to harvest, and were loaded with lots of big rock-hard buds from the bottom to the top, each plant yielding between 30 and 40 grams. The buds had a very good calyx-to-leaf ratio, only a few short flower leafs had to be trimmed off, and where abundantly covered with multi-layers of long trichomes. The vast amount of resin reminded of White Widow dimensions, these Blueberry plants in fact looked like a white strain. And the smell should top this excellent perfomance, being extremely fragrant and fruity. Yes, this was the authentic berry taste that only the Original Blueberry can offer. I was amazed by the distinctiveness of this taste, considering the fact that the buds had been grown hydroponically. Berryman's Blueberry buds even gave me the strongest blueberry taste experience I ever had. And the high really kept the promise of a clear euphoric turn, very long-lasting and pleasant. The Original Blueberry - for sure one of the most rewarding cannabis strains on the market.

Grow report #2
This weeks customer review comes from Alex, an experienced European self-sufficient cannabis home grower [who used two strains - Mazar and Blueberry - for this particular grow].
Alex specialises in organic growing methods and a strong focus on the final quality of the cannabis. He grows in a soil preparation with 6 weeks of organic nutrients already blended into the soil that will cover the germination phase, the growing and stretching of the plant.
Alex allowed a week for germination and then used 9 litres containers for the first 25 days vegetative growth under a 400W metal halide light rich in blue spectrum light.
A simple and proactive approach is used with regards to illness and potential fungus diseases: 2.5ml/litre of Calcium (Bio Canna) is used once a week during the grow phase only (in order to strength the plant cells against odium and other potential fungus during the blooming phase)
The following 1-10 days allowed for sex identification with the lighting switched to a 600W HPS which was on for 12 hours each day: 12 hours of light followed by 12 hours of darkness.
Once the female plants had been identified they were re-potted into 11 litre containers and allowed to continue blooming until 30% of the trichomes showed amber colorations
A thorough check/quality check was done using multiple samples collected on the plant, and checked with a USB Microscope
At this point they were harvested, water-cured for few minutes to remove any dust, and finally slowly dried in the dark at 19 degrees and 35% humidity). Then they were cured for about 1 to 2 months, opening the jar every 2 days for about 1 hour.
Using the Alpha CAT home test kit Alex then measured the cannabinoid levels to determine the quality of the cannabis he had produced. [The Blueberry measured THC at 18%]
Smoke test:
- The first contact with the blueberry is when you open the pot: this specific nice floral and fruity flavor hits you
- This fruity smell will be amplified by the grinding process.
- The first blows are very much fruity and citrus mixed together, after flew blows, the blueberry / fruity flavor appears and stays on the throat - but disappears too fast :)
- the High is not too strong, but peaceful. Good for smoking during the day, the relax effect is potent and lasts few hours
