AutoMazar (Dutch Passion)
A big, reliable and extremely high-yielding auto for indoor and outdoor cultivation, it is mold- and pest-resistant, has many side-branches and a dense foliage. Among phenotypes there is a longer flowering but also higher-yielding superauto. A very easy-to-grow strain.
A quite strong body stone accompanied by a head high.
The same as by the original Mazar.

AutoMazar is a remarkably heavy-yielding autoflowering hybrid between our legendary Mazar and a Ruderalis/Indica. Mazar is a triple prize winner, a best seller praised for its potency, high yields and soft taste. AutoMazar produces sticky, generously proportioned buds and grows to a height of 70 to 80 cm. AutoMazar is a typical Indica, a strong-growing dense plant with big leaves and yields of 50 to 125 grams per plant. Best result so far is a plant that produced 205 grams outdoor in Southern Europe.
It is a robust strain that is easy to grow and guarantees a heavy early summer harvest of superior quality when grown outdoors. The stable genetics ensure that AutoMazar is resistant to pests and diseases. The flavor and aroma of this resinous variety are that of an original earthy Indica. The intense “body-high” is very pleasant. AutoMazar is a must for all Indica lovers, not at least for it's tremendous yield. Highly recommended.
My Automazar is 30 cm in height 4 week after germination, It seem to develop very slow. The other plants (autobluberrry, brainstorm, etc) they grow insanely fast. They all received the same treatment: biocanna vega, rhizo and boost, under 420 W dual spectrum in Canna Terra Profesional. 11 liters pots. The temp is a bit higher, around 27-28 as im living in very warm country.
My first go at autos. I grew 2 and trained them just like photos. I topped, tied and trimmed them for a flat canopy of about 30 tops each. They finished about 30" high and took a bit longer at 77 days and 84 days each (don't want to rush the girls!). Dry weight of 219g and 229g! When they say this is a "robust strain" with "tremendous yield" it is true! And a very nice Indica body effect. Thanks Dutch Passion.
Hello, i grew automazar 2 years ago and it's a good one except its flavor. It hasn't the fine taste of the classical mazar i've already grown before, this good hashish smell very enjoyable. The 2 strains came from the same seller dutch passion.
I have to agree with the other reviewers - solid indoor grower! There is a lot you'll see on the Internet about the world famous yields one grower obtained and, having seen 4 of these grow in person I can believe it's possible - anyone that says otherwise thinks the world's flat or the moon is made of cheese (not the exodus or garden type!). Anyway, for new growers worried about hype and faced with making decisions about where to spend your money - forget the rest, this will get you started and you'll quickly find your feet with DP Auto Mazar, I only wish we could all grow more! So don't forget, no need to put money on a bet, have a go with Auto Mazar, you'll see for yourself, this is a great cultivar!
Taff, Hereford (dutch-passion.nl):
AutoMazar was the first auto I grew and I never realised they grew as big with so much bud. Mine was done indoors with lights on for 20 hours each day. The plants were around a metre tall when grown in coco. I chopped them on day 70 which is what DP recommend and got a good couple of ounces off each one, I was well chuffed with the result.
Hasim KILIC (dutch-passion.nl):
... it's grown till 1,31m at her 59th day, it's covered with white dust (good thick layer of thc) it seems to going to be between 50 an 60 grams. the circumstances she was grown in, is poor. the worst of them is bad soil. to much fertilizer in the soil on it's own and not good breathable enough for the plant. very forgiving plant for mistakes and still rewarding for amateur handling. on my 80th day. I think I'll chop her before her 90th day.
Crazy Russian (dutch-passion.nl):
I got 120 grams per plant. Out of 6 plants 3 different phenotype. Not bad.
Beautiful plant. It's growing strongly outside, after 7 weeks it's about a meter and we've had the worst weather ever this summer in Belgium. As I've only tried autos outside for the second time, I can assure this is far, far more superior than an other seed bank I have used. I've seen a few autos growing, from mates, but never seen an auto burst to life like this. One plant is growing JUST like in this time lapse video, the other one I've LST'd and I confirm this works very well too when done properly. So after 7 weeks mini buds are forming, I suppose they're here for another 4 good weeks.
I'm doing 3 auto mazar in my garden here in holland. I'm very impressed if i compare them to the auto flowers i tryed in the past. 2 of them are around 1.35 mtrs, the other one a little smaller but still over 1 meter. they started flowering 2 weeks ago, seeing some pottential nice buds. I hope i can get the mold under control later in the flower period.
Nice variety easy to grow
I did have 2 pheno types. One was a Super Auto Mazar that gave me 159.06 grams of dried and de-stemed bud and the shorter normal version produced 70+ grams. Was able to clone the super auto and it gave me an additional 35 grams... This is one of Dutch Passions best strains, auto or photo...
one of the best autoflower i ever planted. in outdoor can be produce huge and strong solid buds around 70-80g/plant. no need extra care, i recomend to every beginner. little sensitive to the humidity before harvest.
I'll be quite honest I was very pleased with Dutch Passions Auto Mazar seems a very good Auto strain easy for anyone to grow.
This season I've tried to grow Auto Mazar from Dutch P. As soon as it went on flower (no hermie here) it just didn't even look like a cannabis plant, more like oregano with no smell !! trashed it away before finish. Dutch Passion makes GreenHouseSeeds look like top notch breeder...
Awesome strain. It deserves all its cups. Not finicky, lots of branches and buds. Nice indica flavor and the effect is good. Stable genetics. You can harvest 50g from plant outdoors if you give it a proper care...
Very good strain, one of my favorites. Yields are nice, 50g in good conditions. Good taste and potency...
My AutoMazar didn't yield anywhere near 50-120g that the breder promises. However I very much liked its strong and very interesting high. It had practically one single cola, with a few buds on short lower branches. The buds weren't dense, the smell was practically non-existant. Dried buds loose their stickiness as if it were some ditch weed. But once you pop you can't stop as they say=))) The stuff burns very quickly, even instantly because it lacks much resin but I can't blame the quality of the high...
Great auto, flowering time - 11 weeks, good yield as is the case with any DP strains. Lots of branches, very dense buds...
Grow report #1
This week our blog reviews a very special AutoMazar grow by KushT. The plant is one of the best we have seen, yielding over 300g of top quality pot from a single plant grown in deep water culture (‘DWC’) under 500W of LED light.
KushT used a 20 litre DWC bucket with a 60 litre/minute air pump to provide maximum root aeration. Expert auto-growers often focus on 2 key areas to produce special plants. They like to combine optimum light levels for the leaves/buds, but they also like to focus on the creation of a large, well-fed root system. In this grow the root ball filled the 20 litre bucket and allowed the plant to produce a generous number of very big (and long!) blooms. KushT used the 3-part ‘Genesis’ nutrients and by the end of the grow he was feeding the AutoMazar with an unusually high nutrient concentration of EC 3.0, much higher than we usually see. Only 2 other nutrients were used, Carboload and a pK boost. The combination of intense LED light, a large well-fed root ball and great grow skills KushT helped produce a real monster AutoMazar.
This grow was unusual because the growing tip of the AutoMazar was removed on day 28. This is a technique known as ‘topping’ and is often used by growers of traditional cannabis varieties to produce bushier plants which do not grow as tall. This technique is not generally used by AutoFem growers as it will slow the plant down for a few days while it recovers. But on this occasion KushT has shown that topping can produce special results even with AutoFem’s.
Here are a few words from KushT. “Her growth was vigorous with very strong and dense side branching. Structurally she was a very pretty cannabis plant (aren't they all?) with extremely dense foliage. The plant was almost too dense... crazy dense. Would I do anything differently if I grew AutoMazar again? ... I don't know if I'd top an AutoMazar again, not that it didn't pay off, it just made an already dense canopy even denser. I would also make sure airflow to her roots was perfect next time, at the start of the grow the air pump was being shared with an AutoBlueberry resulting in poor air-flow for the AutoMazar roots which suffered slightly as a consequence. I made a good few errors with her; she didn't care and just carried on regardless. An awesome strain for growing. Excellent work Dutch Passion. The high starts quite cerebral & heady, but quickly advances to what I'd consider a more indica type stone. Couch-lock can be attained pretty easily. What it will be like in a month or two in the jar... Could be knockout! So basically it's a thumbs up from me... on all fronts, I can't fault her at all. I can see why AutoMazar is Dutch Passion's best selling auto“
Grow report #2
This week we see Dutch Passion AutoMazar and Think Different grown in coco fibre in an indoor HPS grow system by ‘Couchslouch’. Six AutoMazar plants produced 495g of dry buds and 4 Think Differents gave 305g...
Couch grew his plants in coco fibre using 11 litre pots. He began the seedlings under 24 hour light from a metal halide 400w light. As the Seedlings grew stronger and bigger some went under a 1000w HPS and the remainder went into a separate tent with a 600w HPS where they had 20 hours of daily light. Plants were fed daily with a standard ‘House& Garden’ coco nutrient. After 11 weeks the plants were chopped down and dried. Couchslouch enjoyed a harvest of 800g (28 ounces) of top quality cannabis. Here are the comments and advice from Couchslouch himself.
Question: How would you compare AutoMazar and Think Different? Do you have any comments or preferences?
Couchslouch answer. They were both pretty straight forward to grow. The Think Different is possibly a bit more sensitive, I managed to shock my plants (nutrient burn) early on and the AutoMazar bounced back quicker than the Think Different.
I trained my plants into a SCROG net to level out all the buds, which worked well giving very even dense buds with no popcorn. There was a fair bit of variation in the size and stretch of the plants with both strains so training in a net evened the canopy out.
I grew these using coco in 11 litre pots and the roots had circled the pots but had not fully penetrated the middle. next time I'd use 6 litre pots. I had 7 plants in a 1.2 m² tent - next time I'd put 9 plants in, maybe even 12
Question: What about the smoke. How would you compare AutoMazar and Think Different?
Couchslouch. They are both lovely smokes with good taste and smell. I like them both but the Think Different is a bit more an everyday functional smoke and the AutoMazar more for chilling on the sofa. The AutoMazar is a strong indica ‘stone’, a little hit gives a nice functional high but it doesn't take much to glue you to the sofa. I like in a vaporizer as it's a lighter hit. I don't smoke it in the week as I find it a bit heavy next morning. The Think Different is a much more uplifting smooth hybrid high, not too heavy and without a hangover next day. There's some lovely fruity smells and tastes.
Question. What was the most interesting thing that you learned about auto's during your grow?
Couchslouch. That they produce proper weed and give reasonably good yields, they've come of age after some years of breeding. I think they're a great way to get quality bud in just 10 weeks or so using a single grow space.
Grow report #3
This weeks Dutch Passion AutoMazar grow diary comes from ‘DWCocha’ who is an indoor grower specialising in deep-water-culture (‘DWC’) which is one of the hydroponic techniques proven to give some of the biggest and best results for the self-sufficient cannabis grower... DWCocha grew a freaky AutoMazar which simply did not know when to stop growing, in the end it was harvested 123 days after germination and yielded around 400g of top quality pot...
DWCocha used a 20 litre DWC bucket to grow his AutoMazar. The seedling was germinated in a rockwool cube which was placed in a basket of clay pebbles. The roots grew down into the 20 litre nutrient reservoir, and as the plant matured the nutrient strength was increased. At the bottom of the 20 litre DWC bucket was a rubber air diffuser which produces a constant stream of bubbles to oxygenate the roots. Without the air bubbles the roots would simply rot in the nutrient solution.
In the grow DWCocha used Canna nutrients, Rhizotonic, cannazym, Aqua veg/flores and pK13/14 bloom boost. Additionally Advanced Nutrients were used, sensical grow/bloom, carboload, Big Bud and Overdrive. The grow took place in a Secret Jardin DS120 indoor tent. Tents are one of the most convenient ways to grow indoors, and this one was 1.2m wide, 1.2m deep and 1.8m tall and they retail for around €150. The single AutoMazar grown by DWCocha completely filled the tent! The main light used in the grow was a Grow Northern MS006...
Initially the young AutoMazar was grown under a 90w UFO LED. DWCocha had some problems in the first 2 weeks at the start of the grow and the AutoMazar only just survived. Despite the early problems the AutoMazar went on to become one of the biggest we have seen.
The following comments are from DWCocha himself.
“In DWC AutoMazar took a lot of calcium/magnesium, and was over the maximum recommended dose by the finish. AutoMazar has a really sweet & smooth flavour and smoke. It’s so easy to smoke it's more-ish! I can't leave it alone but still function fine all day. AutoMazar is a good daytime blaze that makes you smile when you roll ... the bag appeal alone, before you light up screams quality & guarantees no disappointments !”
“The crazy size of this plant is for sure down to the genetics, DWC/LED & perfect EC & pH throughout 90% of the grow. I’m not an expert grower, but I just got lucky with this one. I realized the potential & made the effort to keep the AutoMazar in the nutrient sweet spot. Also her near-death experience at a very young age may have released some crazy monster mutant survival gene or something. I would definitely grow AutoMazar again & wouldn't change a thing apart from some grower errors along the way! I would have liked the relative humidity (‘RH’) lower, since 60% RH was typical throughout the grow, soon I will get a dehumidifier”
“What can I say? Thanks Dutch Passion for creating some amazing weed. This was my second ever grow, and I got a result I doubt I'll be able to beat. I still can't quite believe it ! AutoMazar was an absolute pleasure to grow & was well worth the extra grow time given the quality & amount of bud produced! I give Dutch Passion AutoMazar a 10/10 score. 388.1g was the final weight after smoking a fair bit & giving away half an ounce ! ... it would have been over 400g if I had not smoked a load before the final weigh in”
Grow Report #4
The pictures and opinion in this weeks blog come from ‘Robwars’, an experienced home-grower who specialises in pushing AutoFem genetics to their limit.
Robwars grew the single AutoMazar seed in a 5 gallon (25 litres) airpot which was cut down to 4 gallons (20 litres) by reducing the height of it... The 20 litre (4 gallon) airpot used by Robwars is bigger than most growers would normally choose. But as you can see from the photographs, it produced a very special result. 200g+ harvests from single plants are a home-growers dream...
The pictures and words are from Robwars himself.
“I finally had the chance to grow out the AutoMazar this fall and see first hand what the legend was all about. I was not disappointed... I threw all I had at her, I gave AutoMazar her own tent, the biggest airpot I had and some LED love. She had a very easy veg period, relatively slow at first but she exploded into form, I believe I switched to Bloom nutes at 45-50 days. The Bloom phase was just as easy, knowing that she would go at least 100 days I just stretched out my Bloom schedule to fit her needs. My biggest challenge was keeping her warm enough, she spent the majority of her Bloom phase @ 77°F (25°C) which is a few degrees lower then I like (79-81°F) but she did get some very pretty purple colours out of it. I took her down at 103 days, it took my wife and I about 6 hours from start to finish to cut her down and trim her up. She spent 9 days drying and maybe 10 days in the jars so far. The AutoMazar gave up 216 grams of fine bud and a healthy side of popcorn buds and sugar trim (about 75 grams) for bubble hash. Her high is very uplifting and energetic classic sativa with a hint of citrus and pine. Bag appeal is off the charts with tight Christmas tree frosted buds, dense buds. Overall if you're into Auto's and you haven't grown this out you are missing out. The AutoMazar has something for the commercial grower and the connoisseur.”
“The AutoMazar delivers on production and bag appeal that's for sure. As far as falling short I'd say this is more of my opinion that I prefer more of an Indica style buzz butt would highly recommend this to someone with poor circulation and or PTSD. This is a great morning smoke, energetic and happy with zero anxiety.”
