A rather tall sativa that is best grown in ScrOG. It is recommended to veg it for 1-2 weeks. After switching to 12/12 it needs quite some time to start flowering and finishes in 80-90 days. The long branches are covered by big, resinous buds from top to bottom. Even a novice grower can get more than average yields and those who familiarize themselves with this strain can achieve phenomenal results.
Effect:
Very strong. In the beginning one feels energy and psychedelic effects, then comes long lasting nirvana. Experienced smokers can use Y Griega in the day but a novice smoker will be knocked out.
Plant's growth begins with a dramatic force, and it is highly advisable to grow it in SCROG, because it becomes more manageable. Unlike other sativas, this plant surprises us with a robust production of buds, large and extremely resinous, who arrive to cover the stems resin.
In a recent analysis done by CANNA Research with a gas chromatography, Y Griega has received an incredible 27.12% of THC: A figure that speaks for itself.
This plant maintains a classic haze scent, combined with a slight sweet touch that makes it stand out. It effects begins with an energy jolt slowly fired in a state of alertness and relaxation.
20% Indica / 80% Sativa Indoor vegetative period: 1-2 weeks Indoor flowering period: 80-90 days Indoor production per m2: more than 500gr Outdoor height: Up to 3.5m Outdoor harvest: Early November Outdoor production: 550gr THC: 27.12% / CBD: Low
Genotype: Amnesia x Kali Mist

darkvegaaj (leafly.com): This plant is stinking up my grow room in a good way. The buds are very sugary. Crystals everywhere. The stems grow long and bud sites are everywhere. It's drinking about a gallon a day and it's most happy with lots of light and lots of nutrients. Current using Advance Nutrients. Would highly recommend this beautiful medicine.
beer316 (rollitup.org): I am doing it right now. you want to scrog it. i can get pics but its only in like the 3rd or 4th week of flower. It's 80% sativa so it has a long transition time. because of that, it doesnt have much for buds showing yet compared to my other strains....
Budimus (seedfinder.eu): Overall i like this plant. Pretty easy to grow and good smoke. Painkiller too.
Spyderand (seedfinder.eu): No diseases or genetic problems. Final height (with fimming) 1,20m, in 8liter pot, 75gr (dry) harvest.
bloom (seedfinder.eu): Even if you don't quite achieve what you aim for with your girst grow the plant will still be above average! And if you learn all her peculiarities she is absolute FIRE!!!
tturtlebutt (seedfinder.eu): I love this strain. With some experience you can have the BEST!
tohtori7 (seedfinder.eu): Strong!!!!!!!!
Guest (pakaloco.com): I've had these beauties in my box for 1.5 months; in veg they reached more than three feet... I switched them to flower a week ago without any fuss. The smoke is already strong. It's scary to imagine what the buds will be like, I won't be the first one to test them)) it's a joke of course but I must prepare myself properly!
Guest (pakaloco.com): It's possible to grow one indoors ..... you'll need a room with at least 7 feet of head space + SCROG + topping ...... and even this isn't a guarantee ..... it looks exactly as on the official photo ..... the effect isn't exactly sativa like ..... if you compare it to Satori for example ...... outside it's ready for harvest in the middle or the end of November .....
Guest (pakaloco.com): A very strong effect, so strong that it's intimidating at first. Its pedigree speaks for itself.
The Stoned Society
An excellent strong sativa to get really high. Though, sativa's in general (including this one) do have a lower yield, which depending on your consumption is suitable for you or not. If you are looking for a very strong sativa, the Y Griega will be able to lift you up and drop you off on cloud 9 in no time.

What’s the high like?
This strain on average manages to produce 27% THC, which definitely makes it one of the strongest strains out there. Which you’ll notice immediately. When I was working on this review, I was obviously smoking this one and quite the opposite, the LSD strain which is 24% THC, but an indica strain. Smoking this one at daytime gave me the head high which is preferred so you are still able to do your tasks. However, I can imagine smoking this strain as a casual smoker and this will tend to give more of a stoned feeling.
When it’s really late however, I do prefer switching to an indica or a hybrid like White Widow or Northern Light (or the LSD I was reviewing too at the moment) to get into more of a stoned state of mind just before I go to bed.
Taste and smell
Arguably the best I’ve yet had the privilege to smell and smoke. The taste is okay, but has a lesser impact compared to the smell.

What’s the high like?
My first encounter with Y Griega was after a longer period without marijuana usage. This was highly noticeable. With its steep THC content, it didn’t take long for the high to make place for a deeply stoned state of mind. There was a clear case of couch lock, followed by very deep (not too restful) sleep. In recurring use, the high lasts quite a bit longer; whilst productivity can be decent when you start smoking, a couple of joints/blunts later you can merely relax and watch something.
Taste & Smell
The Y Griega’s smell is quite similar to a good Haze, quite sweet, even a bit minty – And that’s a very good smell at that. The taste was not as interesting as the smell, it did not leave an impression
In this video Matt Mernagh, an experienced grower and author of books dedicated to medical marijuana cultivation, is topping several Y Griega plants. Since this strain is characterized by an immense stretch during flowering you can't hope to control its height without topping. One of the plants has been topped earlier and it's obvious that her side branches grow more vigorously than the rest. In a comment to this video, the grower says that the finished product is fantastic - it has an awesome uplifting high and the most pleasant smell.
This video is a slide show of a Y Griega SCROG grow. The first things you notice are narrow sativa leaves, long and thin branches and a spacy bush structure during veg. The flowering obviously lasts a great while - the buds fill out and get abundantly covered by chrystals but the hairs are white even on the last photos. Evidently the grower uploaded the video without waiting for the harvest. The buds are probably not very dense - the new flower clusters grow sideways making the colas wider but you can see that they are not packed too tightly.
A quick-finishing sativa that is popular among commercial growers. It gives bumper harvests in SOG setups. The high is pleasant, strong and long lasting.
