Pineapple Chunk (Barney's Farm)
An indoor strain with many different phenotypes including weird ones. The indica pheno is a very good yielder, the sativa ones have more fluffy buds and lower yields. The flowering time is 2 times (!) longer than claimed by the breeder. The stretch in flower is great and requires a lot vertical space. Most growers report a powerful smell in the flowering stage.
An excellent long lasting head and body high. An aphrodisiac. A Cannabis Cup winner.
Indica CUP Winner 2009.
We crossed the famous “Barney’s” Pineapple with our Cheese/Skunk #1 with the intention of breeding in to this new variety the essence and flavor of these two delicious strains. The result is an extremely vigourous and stable plant. Mould and disease resistant. Flowering to a beautiful conclusion in just 55 days. The essence and flavour of Pineapple Chunk is immediately obvious. Its aroma of earthy Cheese X Skunk is backed up by a secondary scent of Pineapple. The taste is delicious and unique. Earthy flavours are underpinned by a strong tasty Pineapple aftershock. Pineapple Chunk is most rewarding. A huge giver with a massive THC output and high CBD gives a powerful couch lock effect.
type: indica dominant
flower time: 60-65 days
harvest time: end september
Name: Pineapple Chunk
Genetics: Pineapple x Skunk #1 x Cheese
From: Om Of Medicine (Dispensary – Ann Arbor)
Price: $62/3.5 grams
Looks: A lot of the nuggets were little, bright to dark green, marble-sized nugs. They threw in one gram-sized bud that was very sticky like the others, but it was for sure more beautiful to view. The purple hues in this stuff were a very calm lavender color. The bud structure itself was medium to hard density with a mild give when squished between the fingers. The trichomes and the bud were so perfect, cured insanely perfectly, and almost looked wet from resin production.
Smell: Very skunky and very cheesy. The pineapple smell is very mild compared to the first two smells. It smells like a funky cheese party tray!
Taste: The taste was very much cheese dominant. The only other taste I could grab was the smooth skunky smell that just kinda lingered in your mouth and throat.
Buzz Type: I would say this stuff is a 50/50 on the indica and sativa sides. It was sold as indica but it wasn’t nearly as narcotic as some of the indica bud I’m used to. Body was stoned and my mind was racing. It was a good bud to smoke before the bar. My body felt good, my eyes were relaxed, and I was energetic and talking. My body was numb as I had no problem standing for a few hours.
Buzz Length: Long – Very Long. I could honestly tell I was high the whole 3 hours at the bar. This stuff lasted a while!
Overall: A nice funky tasting weed that I’m sure anyone would love to toke on. It was a fun high that broke up well. The 8th lasted me a little longer than usual. This is some of the premium bud Om has been displaying lately. This Michigan marijuana game is really, really stepping up! I just hate these high prices. Would have been an A+ other than the labeling and the high ass prices I’m paying with the $25 in gas it takes me to get there and back. I hope they start giving me that 10% discount to disabled members they have on their website soon. –1000toes

Strain: Barneys Farm Pineapple Chunk
Indica/Sativa: Mostly Indica
Bag Appeal: 9/10
Some very dense nuggets on the non sativa pheno's I had. Also got some really nice purple in some of the larger stuff which I wasnt expecting.
My fav smelling of all the strains I ran. Very distinct pineapple smell BUT funny thing, as its cured more, when you get deeper into the smell I can smell the Cheese hardcore, its great!
this stuff is good, you kinda get this pineappley taste for a second but soon after that cheese taste totally sets in.
The High: 10/10
this is def an indica despite its sativa like growing characteristics. Starts in the head for a short time and then just straight up body rocks you. Im ready to watch this movie and PTFO!
The mother indica takes the win for yield. Prob got close to 5-6 oz's from her. The rest of the plants being very sativa like gave me really whispy nugs. Total dry weight was 13 ounces.
Final Score: 8/10
* I wanted to score it higher but the flowering time kinda bugged me. I wasnt really in a rush to crop out but it would of just been nice if it had finished around its expected "claimed" date, id be further into my next cycle.
This was honestly the strain I was most excited for from the lot. I was very impressed and also disappointed. The fact I flowered for 90 days+ and then the added like 3-4 different pheno types with a couple that grew weird imo, I would say the strain is not yet stabilized. I wish I would of took clones from the mother indica cause she was the gold coin. If I could somehow get that really good indica dominant pheno again, I would run this again but besides that, the barneys farm claimed date of 55 days was way off. If im gonna do 90days+ id rather do a full blown sativa bitch like Kali Mist or something.
This was my last grow, finished around October of last year. I grow indoors in a closet, so I keep it small. I wanted to grow enough so I could stop growing for a while and have enough bud to keep me stocked for a while. I don't really remember why I chose BF PC but I'm sure their promise of 25% THC was one of the factors, as well as the purported 55-60 day flowering period.
All 5 of the femmed seeds germed very quickly and vigorously, with their shells popping 1 or 2 days after putting them in moist paper towels between 2 plates. I stuck all 5 in peat cups under a homemade moisture tent (I put a baggie over each cup) with a mix of Fox Farms Ocean Forest and some used soil I had (I have heard FFOF can be hot for seedlings) under a normal 2-tube flourescent light fixture. They all broke ground in a timely fashion and when they had their 2nd set of true leaves, I put the peat cups into 3 gallon grow bags filled with FFOF, some lime, a little Mexican bat guano layered in, and some perlite, under a 400W MH light, 18 on, 6 off.
I vegged them until they had alternating nodes, about 2 weeks, then changed the bulb to an HPS (I have a switchable ballast) and the lighting to 12/12. All 5 turned out to be females. I used Blue Mountain Organics nutes, as well as liquid kelp a few times and some Happy Frog 7-4-5 Tomato and Vegetable fertilizer scratched into the soil well into blooming (there are no grow shops within 100 miles of me and this was the only organic fertilizer I could find locally).
So these ladies grew, and grew, and grew. I'm not really limited vertically on growing space, but these plants grew so high, I had to raise my light as far up as it would go. I had started with them sitting on a platform of bricks, and at the end, all the bricks were taken away, plants were sitting on the floor, and at 6 feet tall myself, I had to look up at 4 of the 5 plants.
It seems to me that the Barney's Farm Pineapple Chunk has a couple of different pheno's, though neither pheno I grew matched the 55-60 day flowering period claimed-try double that. The 2 most indica of the plants, (and there was really only 1, with the other having more Sativa and probably needing to have gone a few days longer) went well over 90 days, with the other 3 going almost 16 WEEKS.
I will admit, after harvesting the first 2, I was determined that I was going to keep feeding and watering the other 3 until I got at least half amber trichs. Maybe I could have cut the others a littler sooner, but even so, the wildly varying phenotypes and LONG growth time have soured me a little on Barney's Farm. I've always wanted to try their LSD, but I'm a little skittish now.
So I finally got all 5 tall wenches cut, dried and cured. I have looked at the stickies on grams per watt and lighting, etc., but have to admit I don't really understand it. Math has always been my weak point! I know I should have culled the weakest of the 5 and concentrated on the best 4 under a 400W HID light in a 4X4 space, but I wanted to get maximum yield so I could stop growing for a while, so when all 5 turned out to be girls, I grew them all out.
My final tally was just over 16 oz. dry, which I was pleased with and pleasantly surprised. It was just the amount I was looking for (more, really) to tide me over for quite a while.
As for the smoke, all I can say is, it's good and I like it. It's a head high, with just enough body to suit my needs. The smell is definitely fruity after drying AND while flowering!
I apologize for the rambling review, but I've just had a few bong rips of the very same Pineapple Chunk
In searching the web, there are others that have had the same experience as I did, but some who were closer to the 60 day flowering period Barney's Farm suggests. Maybe since I grew it they have stablized the phenos a little more, who knows? I probably wouldn't grow it again, due to the height issues and the long flowering time I experienced, but I would give the smoke a B+ or A. Just yesterday, I was hitting a small pipe and got that head rush where, just for a second or two, you forget where you are!

I ordered 25 Pineapple Chunk Fems from Barneys Farm...First time growing them, but accoriding to B.F. they are supposed to be indica dom. and finish in around 55 days. These look sativa dom (totally sativa imo) and am at day 55 now and appear to be nowhere near ready...
mine are at 55 days in the picture and look to me like they could go another 3 weeks or so...they outgrew the rest of the babies by a good 2 feet for the exception of the other chunks. Hopefully it will still turn out good!
lolololol!!! barneys farm!!! first mistake was buying unstable genes that has fucking haze in its backround that they call indica. 2nd was those same fuck ups that are ruining global seed sales with their shitty genes and knockoff names actually producing FEM seeds.
you just got a pheno that wasnt what they wanted you to find lol.
i'd stick with reputable breeders that arent all about marketing and money. i mean if you have an artist draw up some dumb tangerine dream picture and stickers and shit and try and promote it....COME ON
the herb speaks for itself if its good enough
I've got one pineapple chunk going right now. Mine grew pretty tall say compared to the bubba kush I have growing next to it like easy 12 inches taller but I bent her over and tied her down which is giving the side branches more light and she is chunking out nicely now. I'm at 37 days flower. Her smell is out of this world though. We used to have a desert on holidays when i was a kid and we just called it green stuff. It was made from lemon & lime jello with cottage chese mayo and...pineapple. This plant smells just like it. But I think my pheno is going to have a really nice yield to it. So I'd say if you're going to grow the rest of the ones you bought, you should top them and trellis them to max the yield. My pheno looks like it will be finished in 3 more weeks but only my 30x loope will tell for sure! This is a group that doesn't seem to stable yet to me. A lot of variance in phenos but if you've got space to grow some and pick a mother, you can find a good keeper like mine for sure. They clone super easy. I pinched 2 bottom brances and stuck them in the dirt and they rooted and have tiny buds on them now...lol
Last week mine had such a heavy pineapple smell that it was almost sicking sweet. If you've ever had green stuff jello salad, that's what it smells like. lemon-lime jello with cottage cheese and pineapple. Shes a much better plant thean the vanilla kush growing behind her. I'm not impressed with my vanilla. but on the other sidwes are bubba kush and blue cheese. I'm gonna have winners no matter what. High praise to the cheese crosses!
I'm taking it down at 55 days and shes's mostly cloudy with just a few amber jumping in. I took an early smoke and I was happy. My buddy just started 5 babies and is in like 2nd week of veg. I can't wait to see if he gets the same results i did. I think my screen really helped to bring up the yield on this one though. The lower areas ended up with good light. I don't think their yields are what they claim, but I'm pretty sure I'll get 4 oz off of her. She's on my list of would grow again. But their is a whole list of ones I want to grow before I do grow her again...
I found that both the banilla kush and the pineapple chunk were really bomb after about 3 months in the Jar. The Pineapple was uplifting and mind expanding but the vanilla would sink me into the chair. My worst problem was trying to roll a joint with the pineapple chunk. It was so icky sticky that the paper would be all sticky trying to roll it. The pineapple smoke I found to be a really heavy smoke and it had just a lttle creap to it, but the tadte of both of thes 2 strands were awsome. The pineapple chunk smelled like countrytime lemonade mix and the vanilla smelled like..welll vanilla. I don't think I'll ever grow either again, but it was all good after a long cure.
I have some of these seeds for my summer grow this comming year and have been researching what people have to say about pineapple chunk. so far the verdict is that it is a really nice plant that was a little misleading on the description. most people that have been growing it seem to all agree that it is more sativa dominant than indica... one guy i talked to said it was his 2nd favorite strain... comming in very close right behind barney's LSD. he said it smelled like watermelons! as far as barneys being a bad breeder... i don't know about that... pretty sure they usually do pretty well at the cup and if i am not mistaken... didn't they win this year... yea i think they did
I agree the flavor and potency are pretty decent - but the 650gr./m2 listed on their site is a load of BS. More like 450gr./m2...
i grew some barneys farm pineapple chunk by feminized seed last harvest and i had no problems with any of them they were excellent!!!!!!! i actually am gonna keep it goin in my garden for sure delicious taste, fat buds!!!, full on pineapple aroma!!! taste just like it smells and god the buds are sticky as hell!!!!!!

Beautiful plant all round, in my Top 3 favourites all time from this 30 year veteran. Contender for champion of champions on all levels. Another Barney’s bomb !
We planted one seed and for one and an half year we took alive this phenotype thanks to many generations of mothers and clones; some friends grow the same in different places and conditions. The motivation that led us to this choice was the simplicity and versatility of this pineapple chunks phenotype and the vast shade of flavors. The weed has a good funny high, although has a medium tolerance education. The strain is extremely suited for beginners, but considering our pheno come from a single bean selection (no selection).
Extremely skunky smell, well suited for SoG and SCRoG, buds will need supported in latter part of flowering. Good commercial strain, very difficult to control odor. This is a Must try strain.
Beautiful grower, intense stench in flowering. Needs lots of attention, but rewards with exceptional resin.
Not a stabilized strain yet! Some of the phenotypes are growing with something like dna problems in the begin. THey stabilize gradually until they reach the flowering stage, but i think some of them are not starting well (not because of grower’s mistakes).

In this year testers, 3 where from Barney seeds, Critical Kush, Pinappel Chunk and LSD all where Fem seeds.
I test for mold resistance, they grow in high humidity enviroment...
Out of the 3 the Critical kush was the best, tho i found it pretty boring in the smell department, have yet to smoke it...
I didn't find any of these 3 barney offerings to be very good.
The Pinappel Chunk was more hazer odor that frutty also only 1 out of 5 was chunky the rest was long leged sativas......
